I decided to take the big leap and move from the ukulele to an acoustic guitar.
I've fallen in love. Her name is Dolce and her name suits her well.
She is a Cordoba Dolce 7/8 size acoustic guitar and she sounds like a dream.
A year ago, had someone told me that I would be obsessed with learning to play guitar, I'd have laughed and thought when would I have the time or energy?!
Yet here I am. I wake every day looking forward to my practice/play time with Dolce. Sometimes I practice 2-3 times in a day, just to break up the working-from-home routine.
It's amazing the soothing and healing power of music, yet it takes on a whole other level when it's music one plays themselves.
My brain needed something to be challenged by during this pandemic. I like to work with my hands and being able to make melodies on the guitar is good dexterous play-work. And I like to sing. So as I play guitar, I'm also singing, which fills me with such joy to be able to do both at once.
I'm no virtuoso and it's slow going, but it's tons of fun, I'm learning, and I'm loving the sweetness of it all.
