O' Captain Brené, My Captain

My love for Brené Brown runs deep. She captured my heart many years ago when I read her Daring Greatly #book. I then quickly breezed through The Gifts of Imperfection and I continue to read everything she publishes.

She is a profound researcher, writer, and #leader in wholehearted living. Her work is foundational and needed in the world.

The world is a better place thanks to Brené. She is the reason for my pursuit of what I refer to as doing the “hard work of heart work”. I’ve referred to her work in some of the leadership development workshops I’ve created.

I always come back to her work. Every once in a while, I'll pick up one of her books and re-read sections.

I've decided to re-read in full The Gifts of Imperfection and I treated myself to the hard copy 10th anniversary edition.

Brené's words soothe my heart and soul and she speaks to my mind and spirit in such a powerful way.

She challenges us to be brave and vulnerable, and that's definitely what I need.
